Zhu Feng placed one tentative leg over the crossbar on his ebike. He was feeling a bit, well, unsteady. His poker buddies were watching from the doorway. It made him feel terribly self conscious.

He tried to maintain a modicum of face as he struggled to balance himself and the bike. Well, he was balanced, that he knew for certain. And the bike was balanced, yes, but they weren’t harmoniously balanced together.

That was the problem, definitely.

Not harmonious.

That, and gravity.

He was starting to wonder if he’d toasted one too many shots of baijiu over dinner.

Of course not. Definitely not.

This bike thing was proving to be a far more complex situation than he had anticipated.

He wished he’d paid more attention in physics class in high school.
